Normanby Hall Country Park aims to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. An overview of the accessibility of the park is available for further reading.

We have installed paths through the woodland so that it is easier to access for those in wheelchairs or pushing buggies. The land train has also been modified to make it wheelchair accessible. The land train runs at weekends throughout the summer season, and during school holidays (weather dependent).

Visual Story

A visual story to support visitors in preparing for their trip to Normanby Hall Country Park.

The story guides you through each step of your day, with photographs and simple descriptions of things you might see, feel and hear.

Changing Places

A Changing Places toilet facility has been installed in the park which offers people with profound disabilities a toilet facility that better suits their needs. If you would like to use the facility, please complete a short form at the Gift Shop. A member of the team can then show you the facility and provide a code enabling you to access it when you visit. More information on Changing Places facilities can be found on their website.

Mobility Scooters

We have two mobility scooters available to hire free of charge in the park. We ask that you give us 24 hours notice, via telephone or email, (details found at the bottom of the page), when booking these and there may be occasions when the scooters aren’t available for hire. When you hire the scooter you will have to fill in some paperwork so that we know that you, the scooter, and other park users will be kept safe.

Adapted Bicycles

We have two adapted bicycles available to hire free of charge in the park. We ask that you give us 24 hours notice when booking these and there may be occasions when the cycles aren’t available for hire. More information about these cycles is available.

Visitors with disabilities who purchase an annual pass and who have a valid Disability Travel Pass with the carer’s symbol on it (or other local authority equivalent) are entitled to a free of charge annual pass that can be used by their carer. The free pass will be made out in the name of the visitor with the disability so that it can be used by any carer accompanying them to the Park.
